IIM Rohtak IPM: Eligibility, IPMAT Pattern, Fees, Cutoff & Placements

Programme Structure

IPM is a single 5-year commitment split into two distinct phases: a 3-year BBA-equivalent foundation, followed by a 2-year MBA-equivalent phase that runs alongside IIM Rohtak’s flagship PGP batch. Students who complete all 5 years graduate with an integrated management degree recognised on par with the PGP; the programme is built for people who already know they want a management career and would rather start now than reapply through CAT four years later.

All streams — Science, Commerce, Arts — are eligible, and IPM students typically get three internship cycles across the 5 years (one more than IIM Indore’s IPM structure offers), giving an earlier and more repeated exposure to live industry work.

Eligibility

You need a minimum of 60% aggregate in both Class 10 and Class 12 (55% for SC/ST/PwD/reserved categories), from any stream, from a recognised board. Students appearing for Class 12 in the admission year can apply provisionally, with the final mark sheet required at registration. Age limits apply — typically 20 years or under for General category, with relaxation up to 22 for reserved categories — as specified in the official notification for that admission cycle.

IPMAT Rohtak Exam Pattern

IPMAT Rohtak is IIM Rohtak’s own aptitude test — a separate exam from IPMAT Indore, with a different structure, different marking philosophy, and no shared cutoff. The single biggest difference: Rohtak has a dedicated Logical Reasoning section that Indore’s exam doesn’t carry at all.

Format: 120 MCQs, 480 total marks, 120 minutes, computer-based, no onscreen calculator. Marking is +4 for a correct answer, −1 for a wrong one, 0 for unattempted. Unlike IPMAT Indore, Rohtak imposes no sectional time limit in the current pattern — you can move freely between sections within the overall 2 hours, which changes the time-allocation strategy compared to Indore’s rigid 40-minutes-per-section format.

IPMAT Rohtak Cutoff

The shortlisting cutoff moves every year with the difficulty of that year’s paper and the number of applicants, but General category candidates have generally needed to clear somewhere above the 95th percentile in recent cycles to reach the Personal Interview stage. Reserved categories (OBC/SC/ST/EWS) clear at correspondingly lower percentile thresholds, in line with the seat reservation structure.

Fees & Scholarships

The programme fee is genuinely split across the two phases — the BBA years cost less per year than the MBA years, since the last two years run on the prevailing PGP fee structure.

IIM Rohtak offers Need-Based Financial Assistance (NBFA) — significant tuition waivers for students from families with annual income below roughly ₹8-9 lakh — alongside merit-based scholarships (around ₹1 lakh/year for top academic performers) once enrolled.

Placements

IPM students are placed alongside the PGP batch in the fifth year, giving them access to the same recruiter pool as the flagship 2-year MBA cohort.

Top hiring sectors have consistently been Sales & Marketing, Product/IT/Operations, HR, alongside a growing consulting and BFSI presence. As with any single-year snapshot, use the most recent season’s figures for decision-making rather than the best year on record.

Campus Life

IIM Rohtak sits about 70 km from Delhi, making it one of the more NCR-accessible IIM campuses — a meaningful factor for internships, guest lectures, and recruiter access without the logistics of a more remote campus. The institute holds dual AACSB and AMBA accreditation, placing it among a small set of Indian B-schools with both international accreditations. IPM batches at Rohtak have also reported one of the higher female-participation ratios among IIM IPM programmes, often cited above 70%.

IIM Rohtak IPM vs IIM Indore IPM

This is the comparison most 12th-graders evaluating IPM actually want, since these are the two most established IPM tracks among the IIMs.

IIM Indore’s IPM is the older, larger-brand programme with a bigger placement number and a more established alumni base — reflected in the average package gap above. IIM Rohtak’s IPM answers back with more internship cycles, a marginally bigger batch, an NCR-adjacent campus, and a notably higher female participation rate. Most other IIMs running IPM tracks accept IPMAT Indore scores, not IPMAT Rohtak — Rohtak’s own test is accepted, apart from IIM Rohtak itself, mainly by TAPMI Manipal’s BBA programme, so factor that into which entrance test(s) you register for.

Exit Options

IPM isn’t an all-or-nothing 5-year lock-in. Students who complete the first 3 years and decide not to continue into the MBA phase can exit with a BBA-equivalent degree, provided they meet the institute’s minimum academic performance requirement to date. Those who continue through all 5 years graduate with the full integrated management degree, equivalent to the PGP. It’s also common for IPM students to attempt CAT during their third year — not to leave the programme, but to explore lateral options at other, higher-ranked IIMs or international programmes while still holding the IIM Rohtak seat as a fallback.

IPMAT Rohtak registration typically opens in February, with the exam itself held in early-to-mid May. Shortlisted candidates are called for Personal Interviews around June, with final offers and seat allotment following in July, ahead of an August programme start.
