What is IPMAT and who should appear for it?
IPMAT — the Integrated Programme in Management Aptitude Test — is a national-level entrance exam for 5-year integrated management programmes at IIM Indore and other IIMs. It is open to students who have completed or are appearing for their Class 12 board exams with at least 60% marks in Class 10 and Class 12. Unlike CAT, which requires a graduate degree, IPMAT allows students to enter an IIM directly after Class 12 — making it one of the most valuable exams a student can target at this stage.
What is the eligibility criteria for the IPMAT Exam?
The candidate must have passed Class 10 and Class 12 with a minimum of 60 percent aggregate. The candidates belonging to SC, ST and PWD (DA) categories must have secured a minimum of 55 per cent aggregate in Class 10 and Class 12.

When to start preparing for IPMAT exam?
It is advisable to start preparing for the IPMAT exam as early as possible to have sufficient time for preparation and revision. Ideally, students should start preparing for the exam at least six months before the exam date. However, the preparation time may vary depending on individual circumstances, such as the level of familiarity with the exam syllabus and the student’s study pace.

IIM Indore IPMAT has two sections — Quantitative Ability and Verbal Ability. The exam is 2 hours long and includes both MCQ and short-answer questions.
